In less than two weeks we will be ready to share the Bolton Town Common Design and kick off our capital campaign! Here are a few quick updates on what's cooking:
Our Common Design
Our charrette process was an unequivocal success. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen! We held 10 hours of workshops with stakeholders representing various constituencies across Bolton — from our students to our families to our churches to our seniors — combined with 15 hours of public viewings where we gathered some 900 comments from residents. Pulling together to create and arrive at the Common design speaks to the community-centric nature of our mission and we are thrilled with the response. We've arrived at a design that we believe will delight residents of all ages. We are currently working with our designers to finalize our shared vision.
We continue meeting with prospective early donors to help get our initiative off the ground. In addition, we are meeting with state politicians and Worcester area foundations to uncover funding opportunities from government entities and private foundations. We believe that the various facets of our initiative — from taking on an environmental cleanup to pioneering a natural playground to supporting our seniors — will appeal to these funding groups. We are applying for these grants and booking meetings with foundations now and are optimistic that these funding sources will support us.
The Unveiling Event
Get ready for the public unveiling and capital campaign kickoff! Our event and communications teams are pulling together a spectacular event with the help and support of the International. On March 27th at 7pm, we'll convene at the International Ballroom and share our final design for the Common. Neoscape, a creative design agency in Boston (with founder roots in Bolton), is developing and donating a 3D video that will help bring the Common design to life for guests. We will also reveal the results of our quiet phase and kick off our capital campaign by sharing name and gift recognition opportunities. Plus, we will enjoy some great food, cocktails and live entertainment! You can buy tickets online (or get more information on how to buy).
We hope to see you there!
